Tiptoe  ˈtɪptoʊ

standing or walking on the front part of your foot, with your heels off the ground, in order to make yourself taller or to move very quietly.

대부분의 다른 동사와 마찬가지로 동사와 명사의 뜻이 함께 입니다.

toe는 발가락이라는 뜻이고 tip은 끝부분이라는 뜻이기 때문에 tiptoe는 명사로는 발끝, 동사로는 발끝으로 살금살금 걷다란 의미가 됩니다.

발끝으로 서는 발레 동작을 떠올리면 좋을 것 같네요.
